So, why am I trying a high-definition mascara? Sometimes, it’s not always about what you like. It’s also about what you need.
My lashes could do with a bit of curl and lift. That’s what Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara promises. It’s the first lash-lifting mascara from the brand.
Does it live up to the hype? Kinda. I like the results, but I’m still going back to my volumizing mascaras… What can I say? The heart wants what the heart wants:
What’s in Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara?
Like most mascaras, Dior Diorshow Iconic is a mixture of:
- Pigments: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide and co give the mascara its hue.
- Waxes: Beeswax and candelilla wax provide the main body of the mascara and make it smudgeproof.
The amount of wax isn’t too high, so it doesn’t give your lashes that much body and volume. But hey, maybe that’s the look you’re going for.
Texture
The formula’s light. You can layer as many coats as you want without it clumping.
Pigmentation
The mascara’s is a dark black hue. It makes your lashes visible without darkening them too much.
Staying Power
It lasts for the entire day without smudging, flaking or clumping. It’s hard to remove but then that’s the reason behind its incredible staying power. Can’t complain, can you?
Fragrance
It’s fragrance-free.
Wand
The brush has bristles that are closed together and slanted to grab every single lash – even the tiniest inner ones. Just twirl the brush as you apply it – done.
Performance & Personal Opinion
A couple of coats of Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara give your lashes amazing lenght, definition and separation while still managing to look natural. It’s like your lashes but better. Just be careful not to apply too much or your lashes will look spidery. That’s never a good look.
I dig this look, don’t get me wrong. But what I seek the most from a mascara is volume, volume and more volume. I want to look like I’m wearing false lashes without all the hassle of putting those on (I still can’t get the hang of it).
This mascara fails in the volumising department. Sure, it’ll give you some. It just doesn’t give you the drama. Oh, and it doesn’t curl, either. Use your eyelash curler for that.

This is a mascara for people who have naturally long-lashes or want great length with a natural appearance.
Who Is This Not For?
Anyone who wants a dramatic, super voluminous curly look.
