Neal's Yard's Remedy Bee Lovely Hand Cream review

I am so NOT lovely to my hands.

I type all day long. Clean my dishes without gloves. Wash my hands 50 times a day (I’m OCD like that).

Is it any wonder that my hands are always so dry? Heck, sometimes, they even crack. 🙁

A good hand cream is a must for me. It’s also hard to find. If it does the job, it’s usually too greasy. If it feels light and comfortable on, I need to reapply it every couple of hours. Argh!

Neal’s Yard’s Remedy Bee Lovely Hand Cream hits that sweet spot. It’s moisturizing without the greasy mess. Yay!

Here’s how it does its magic:

What’s In Neal’s Yard’s Remedy Bee Lovely Hand Cream?

SUNFLOWER SEED OIL TO MOISTURISE SKIN

Sunflowers are one of my fave flowers. Their big, yellow petals always put a smile on my face.

Sunflower oil is also incredibly moisturizing. It contains a whopping 60% of linoleic acid, a fatty acid that creates a barrier on the skin that slows down moisture loss.

Linoleic acid also strengthens the skin’s protective barrier and repairs it when it’s damaged. Once your protective barrier is strong and whole again, it can better withstand the elements, detergents and all its other enemies.

In a nutshell, it’s a godsend for dry skin.

HONEY TO SOOTHE SKIN

Bees give us some of the best ingredients for our skin. Take honey. It speeds up wound healing, soothes irritations and kills nasty bacteria that have found their way on your face.

Plus, it hydrates skin. The “problem”? There isn’t much honey in this hand cream. *sighs*

P.S. 3% of sales goes to bee friendly-charities. The honey may not do much for you, but the cream helps pay it back to the bees and save them. That’s good enough for me. 🙂

Texture

Light cream that sinks immediately into the skin. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue behind unless you apply too much, like I’ve discovered the hard way. Ahem…

Fragrance

I know that citrus oils aren’t the best thing to put on your skin, but boy, do they smell delicious! Think orange wrapped in honey. Divine.

How To Use It

Massage it on your hands every time after washing them.

Performance & Personal Opinion

Because Neal’s Yard Remedy Bee Lovely Hand Cream does a good job at keeping your skin soft and smooth for a few hours.

Of course, it doesn’t last all day. On me, it may last even less than usual because I feel this insane urge to wash my hands all the time.

But, I don’t feel the need to reapply this hand cream every 5 minutes. That’s a common problem I have with hand creams. Not. Moisturising. Enough. Not for dry skin anyway.
